NBSC-ROTC UNDERGOES ADMINISTRATIVE EVALUATION TO STRENGTHEN PROGRAM STANDARDS
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) successfully conducted the Administrative Evaluation of its Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit on December 19, 2025. The activity was undertaken under the guidance of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Office, headed by Mr. John Mark L. Boyonas, MAEng, as part of the institution’s continuing efforts to strengthen program standards and institutional readiness.
The evaluation aligned the NBSC-ROTC program with the Philippine Army’s strategic direction under the Army Transformation Roadmap 2040, which emphasizes organizational excellence, leadership development, and operational efficiency.
The day began with the Arrival Honors at the NBSC Grounds, which served as a formal welcome for the evaluating officers and guests. The presence of SUC President I, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, underscored the administration’s strong support for the ROTC program. Following the Arrival Honors, a courtesy call at the NBSC Boardroom provided an opportunity for institutional representatives and evaluating officers to engage in a brief yet meaningful exchange of ideas.
A comprehensive Corps Commander’s Briefing was delivered by Cadet Colonel Jaspher Jules S. Sales, 1CL, outlining the unit’s status, accomplishments, and goals in the future. This was followed by a presentation from Colonel Bernard T. Ragus, FS (GSC) PA, one of the evaluators, who introduced the initiative to implement a QR code-based attendance system. The initiative highlights the ROTC program’s broader efforts to modernize administrative processes and adopt efficient, technology-driven documentation practices.
The afternoon session formally opened in the ROTC Headquarters with the welcome remarks delivered by Captain Christopher M. Peña (CE) PA, the ROTC Commander. The Evaluator’s Team was introduced by Corporal John Michael E. Bangilisan (Inf) PA, the ROTC Administrative Non-Commissioned Officer, followed by a message from the Chairman Evaluator, Technical Sergeant Eufracio G. Omag, Jr. (Inf) PA, who highlighted the objectives and scope of the assessment.
The formal assessment focused on evaluating the operational readiness of NBSC-ROTC and its adherence to established standards. The activity concluded with the release of the evaluation outcome, marking the successful completion of a comprehensive and methodical review.
The evaluation provided NBSC with valuable insights to further enhance ROTC operations, strengthen coordination with partner agencies, and ensure the continued advancement of the college’s mission in leadership formation, student development, and community engagement.
